Editing Walks
We can't do this yet, but I just wanted to check that it will be possible to edit walks after you have done them, and before sharing them with other people?
Every walk I do needs some editing, where I made a mistake, found a blocked path and retraced or diverted to avoid cattle etc.
At the moment, I record on Outdooractive and download to GPX Studio to edit, then upload the edited gpx file back into Outdooractive before making it public. It would be easier if you could do all that within the same app.

Hey Steve,
On the desktop app (https://app.goodways.org), you can now view a recording of a walk. From here, there’s a new option to ‘Create route from journey’, which will create a private route that you can then edit.
I’ve attached a short video showing you how you can use the tools to convert a recorded walk into a refined route.
I’ll shortly be adding the tools needed to link a route to your organisation: at the moment the route will appear against your profile. For now, feel free to email us and I can associate the route our side.

Huge thank you for all the feedback you’ve left - keep it coming! I’m going away for a couple of weeks but I’ll reply to all the feedback we’ve had in full once I’m back. I just wanted to make sure you know the timeline for a reply and that we’re not ignoring anyone!
I completely agree with editing walks - I often go out for a walk and then edit the recording before making it a public route, so I understand why this is such a good way to get routes into the public domain. For now, you can upload the edited GPX to Good Ways, but we’ll certainly make sure the whole flow can be done within Good Ways.
